Mar-Lu-Ridge Catalyst retreat Facilitation Jan 2015 & Jan 2016
As a team leader I made it possible for a group of college students to achieve their goals of becoming catalysts for change. My role as a facilitator revolved around: assisting in program planning and execution, group activities, team-building and problem solving, providing a safe space for students to feel comfortable with the group in expressing their opinions or ideas, and helping draw the team's various ideas into one conclusive and collaborative plan to tackle a particular subject or situation.
Teaching Assistant Residential Coordinator June 2014 – Aug. 2014
A residential campus based summer experience working with a group of high school students with interests in the visual arts. Assisted an Illustration instructor with in class critiques and technical explanation of various working styles. During the evening, led a series of programs, tours and discussions for the high school students. The responsibilities included being a peer mentor for younger design/fine art students.
Orientation Leader Aug. – Sept. 2014 & 2015
This is a student leadership position. Orientation Leaders are hand selected by the Student Affairs professionals on campus. Once accepted for this position I assisted freshmen with the transition from life at home to life as a college student through informal group discussion and one on one meetings. Created and co-created programs for students to expose them to a wide variety of academic and health resources on campus.
